Question about pet friendly hotels?

Do you have to keep the pet in a kennel? If you leave the room for a short time do you have to take your pet with you or do they allow you to leave it in the room unattended and not in a kennel? Ive never traveled with a pet and was wondering. Ive seen dogs and cats at hotels before. What are the rules?Question about pet friendly hotels?
No, I don't think they require the animal to be kenneled, but I would recommend it. What if the hoursekeeper opens the door and your dog darts out of the room? Or the dog bites the housekeeper? I always kennel my dog, better safe than sorry...she wouldn't bite anyone, but she would dart out the door. Also, even though my dog was kenneled the housekeeper did not come in the room, she was barking a lot and the housekeeper was intimidated by her. That's okay, just ask for extra towels if your dog will be in the room all day.Question about pet friendly hotels?
You would have to contact each hotel to find out what their specific rules are reguarding this.
i have traveled across the us from ny to california with my dog and the best bet for any dog owner is to make resevations at motel six at the town you expect to be in that night

the dog is allowed to be free in the room and you can leave the dog in the room when you go out many of the managersw of motel six have dogs and i have had only good experiences with motel six but reserve a romm in advance it can be on the same day but you should do it in the early afternoon at the latest and you will always get a dog room

MOTEL 6 is a very pet friendly motel!
It can vary from hotel to hotel. The best bet would be to call the hotel and ask before you go, so you know what you need to bring.

And if you're allowed to let them run free, I'd suggest the dog pads to lay on the floor just to be safe.
You can leave it when you are gone and not kenneled. But you will have to apy for any damage and the housekeeper might refuse to clean your room.
