I might be staying at a pet friendly hotel and I was wondering how it worked. I don't want anything to happen to my dog. When and where would he relieve himself? Any other info would be great! Thanks! How does a pet friendly hotel work?
Hotels that allow pets have very specific rules. The usual restriction is that the dog must not be left unattended in the room at any point for any length of time. There are often also weight limits and an extra fee. There will be a grassy area, usually near the parking lot, where your dog can relieve himself whenever you take him out to do so. You will need to have baggies to pick up your dog's waste. They are generally required to be leashed at all times when outside the room. Nothing will 'happen' to your dog, since you will have to be with him at all times. How does a pet friendly hotel work?
You are still responsible for your dog -- being in a pet friendly hotel doesn't change that.
You take your dog outside to when it needs to go.
There are usually areas outside the hotel where you can take your dog; but be sure to pick up the poop yourself!
Don't leave your dog alone in the room, most hotels do not allow that. And if your dog isn't potty trained then you probably shouldn't be traveling with it.
If he goes outside, the hotel will likely have a grassy area for you to take him. If it's a really nice hotel, they may provide a service that takes care of this for you. Call them or talk to guest services when you arrive.
If your worried about the housekeeping service letting your dog out, just put up a ';do not disturb sign';.
its like anyother hotel except the hotel that i worked in charged extra for any pets you had and you had to sign a small contract that says that you must take care of your dog at all times and must have an emergency contact if you leave your pet alone. also housekeeping will not go into your room unless your pet is out.
They don't take care of your dog. All pet friendly means is that they allow pets- You take your dog out when he needs to go, and you bring your dog with you when you leave. They will probably require a $20-$50 deposit that they will keep if your dog pees on the floor or destroys something.
